Jacob, Doug and I went to the open house at the new Indianapolis International Airport this past Sunday and were very impressed with the size and sophistication of the facility. It should make a very favorable impression on people arriving in Indianapolis for the first time. We liked the Civic Plaza (commons area), the interactive art and the opportunity to see behind the scenes in the baggage handling, the concourses and the various trucks used to keep the runways clear. Jacob liked the moving sidewalks the best. We look forward to coming back when the restaurants and shops are all open. It is a further drive now for us to get to the airport but apparently the planes will have a shorter taxi time so it is a trade-off.
